MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JULY 13, 2011
stay in this location for a number of years and indicated that the site is a
good fit for them.
Blesener pointed out that the concern is that the outdoor storage would
become an eyesore. Wenner replied that the storage would be neat and
orderly and the property is well screened. Wenner pointed out that the soil
conditions on this site are poor. If possible, they would proceed with a
future building addition, but are not sure when that might occur.
McGraw asked about truck traffic. Wenner estimated 3 to 10 semis per
day. About a third or half of these trucks are their own trucks. The trucks
consist of flat bids and dry vans. They also have a trailer for dust
collection. Wenner reported that deliveries are made with day cabs, or if
deliveries are outside the five -state area via rail.
Blesener asked the timeframe that Wenner was looking for relative to the
building expansion. Wenner replied 2 to 3 years.
There was no one present from the general public wishing to comment on
this matter.
Upon motion by Boss, seconded by Montour, the public hearing was
closed.
Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2011 -7- 131 — APPROVING AN AMENDMENT
TO PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT (PUD) PERMIT FOR THE
PERMANENT OUTDOOR STORAGE OF CONSTRUCTION
MATERIALS INCLUDING THE OUTDOOR STORAGE OFA
TRAILER FOR DUST COLLECTION FOR 3213 COUNTRY DRIVE,
PALLET SERVICE CORPORATION AND GROVE WHOLESALE
LUMBER, SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS AS
RECOMMENDED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION:
o PUD Permit limited to the outdoor storage of industrial
grade lumber with the stipulation that the outdoor storage
not exceed 60,000 square feet and no higher than 14 feet;
o All trucks and trailers on the site are for loading of
materials and not to be used for storage;
o Allowing one trailer on site to be used for dust collection
storage;
o Review and approval by the Fire Marshal;
o The property owner enter into a Development Agreement
with the City defining all PUD Permit conditions;
6
