Resolution declared adopted.
MCES The City Administrator reviewed the Public Works Superintendent's
RECONVEYANCE August 4, 2011 report relative to the Metropolitan Council's desire to
AGREEMENT reconvey the interceptor that runs from County Road D and LaBore Road
southwest to Sunset Court and Edgerton Street as well as lift station in that
location to the City. As a condition of that reconveyance, sewer lines will
be upgraded and numerous joint repairs done where there is groundwater
leaking into the pipe or root intrusion. The lift station has been rebuilt and
a generator was added.
Blesener asked if the sewer line will be sleeved. The City Administrator
reported that the line into Gervais Mill Park is a very large line, and that
capacity is no longer needed. Therefore, a smaller pipe will be sleeved
into the existing line. The Administrator felt that the work will result in
elimination of some of the City's inflow /infiltration problems.
The Administrator reported that the City Attorney has reviewed the
reconveyance agreement and finds it acceptable. In addition to the
reconveyance of the interceptor and lift station, the City will be getting the
associated easements and rights -of -way as is. The City Attorney feels that
this is acceptable.
The Administrator reported that an agreement will be worked out with the
City of Vadnais I- Ieights relative to their flows into this line.
Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2011 -8- 154 — ACCEPTING THE LITTLE
CANADA INTERCEPTOR CONSTRUCTION COOPERATION AND
RECONVEYANCE AGREEMENT WITH THE METROPOLITAN
COUNCIL AS RECOMMENDED BY THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR
AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY ADMINISTRATOR
TO EXECUTE ON BEHALF OF THE CITY
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis.
Ayes (5).
Nays (0).
