JUDE MEDICAL — TECHNOLOGY CENTER PARKING STRUCTURE
P.U.D. AMENDMENT APPLICATION
Basis of Design
1. Campus Master Plan:
In 2007 the City of Little Canada approved St Jude Medical's PUD application for an updated
master plan and Phase I Building and the subsequent amendment in 2010 to add a 20,000
square foot addition to the Phase I (Technology Center) Building with associated parking.
With the 2010 amendment, the total building site capacity was expanded to 607,500 square
feet with an associated parking increase of 31 stalls for the addition totaling 481 stalls on the
Phase I site and a total campus master plan parking count of 1,631 stalls.
2. Project Description:
StJude Medical is interested in increasing the current parking capacity on the Technology
Center site to better meet the needs of its employees and visitors. To address the added
parking SJM is proposing that approximately 100 additional stalls be added to the site by the
addition of one level of structured parking along the southern portion of the existing parking
lot. The parking structure will be designed to accommodate future expansion while
minimizing the impact on the site and adjacent properties, consistent with the 2007 Master
Plan. The upper two thirds of the existing parking lot will have minimal improvements with
the majority of the parking alterations occurring on the southern /lower third. The parking
structure is planned to have natural ventilation on both levels with provisions for future
ventilation and fire protection in an expanded capacity. The exterior materials for the parking
deck will complement the existing building and are envisioned as brick or precast concrete.
2011 -07 -21 SJM Tech Center Ramp 1'UIJ - Basic of Design
4
