amRIN6 ft, - ASSO(IflT -US <br />Memo <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council Members <br />FROM: Lee Elfering, City Engineer <br />DATE: January 24, 2008 <br />RE: St, Paul Water Works Trail Storm Sewer Repair <br />The repair of a failed storm sewer pipe crossing the St. Paul Water Works Property near <br />153 Little Canada Road was included in the feasibility report for the 2008 Street <br />Reconstruction and Utility Improvements. The replacement of the storm pipe is <br />necessary due to the fact that it has failed, which has created a sink hole next to and <br />under the City trail. Due to the fact that nearly all the drainage conveyed by this pipe <br />comes from the apartment complex at 153 Little Canada Road we are following the 429 <br />process in order to assess the improvement. At this time we are requesting that the <br />feasibility study be approved and a public hearing be authorized. <br />Another memo to the Council in your packet requests that a public hearing be held for <br />the Beam Avenue improvements and we would recommend that this public hearing be <br />held the same night.
