UNWEAVE
THE
WEAVE
MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
CITY COUNCIL
LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA
APRIL 14, 2004
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the City
Council of Little Canada, Minnesota was convened on the 14th day of
April, 2004 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515
Little Canada Road in said City.
Mayor Michael I. Fahey called the meeting to order at 7:38 p.m. and the
following members of the City Council were present at roll call:
CITY COUNCIL: Mayor
Council Member
Council Member
Council Member
Council Member
ALSO PRESENT:
City Administrator
City Attorney
Public Works Dir.
Cable TV Producer
Deputy Clerk
Mr. Michael I. Fahey
Mr. Matt Anderson
Mr. Bill Blesener
Mr. Jim LaValle
Mr. Rick Montour
Mr. Joel R. Hanson
Mr. Tom Sweeney
Mr. Greg Schroeder
Mr. Jeremy Brodin
Ms. Kathy Glanzer
The discussion relative to municipal consent for the Unweave the Weave
project continued from the workshop meeting held just prior to this
meeting.
Frank Pafko, MN DOT, continued in his review of the City's issues list.
With regard to the issue of MN DOT's acquisition of land for ponding,
Pafko noted that if an agreement cannot be reached, there is a legal
process in place for resolving any disagreements on fair market value for
the needed land. Pafko indicated that rather than make this a condition of
municipal approval, this process be used.
Pafko reviewed the final issue on the list, Little Canada Road Freeway
Ramps, and indicated that MN DOT would take steps to minimize the
amount of time the freeway ramps would be closed and traffic detoured.
Pafko noted that given the majority of the Unweave the Weave work will
occur north of Little Canada Road, the north ramps will be closed more
frequently and for longer periods of time. However, there will be only one
ramp down at any one time.
15
