2. Smoke Detector <br />a) There is no working smoke detector in this unit. The smoke detector has <br />been removed. This also places the entire building at risk <br />Minnesota State Fire Code 907.2.10.1.2 <br />3. Egress <br />a) Because of the amount of combustible material and the way it stored there <br />is not an accessible path of egress from this unit. <br />Minnesota State Fire Code Chapter 10 <br />4. Combustible Storage <br />a) Minnesota State Fire Code states storage shall be neat and orderly. The <br />storage is neither neat nor orderly. <br />Minnesota State Fire Code Section 315 <br />Minnesota State Fire Code 109.1 It shall be unlawful for a person, firm or corporation to <br />erect, alter, repair, remove, demolish or utilize a building, occupancy, premises or system <br />regulated by this code, or cause same to be done, in conflict with or in violation of any <br />provisions of this code. <br />Minnesota State Fire Code 110.1 During the inspection of a premises, a building or <br />structure of any building system, in whole or in part, constitutes a clear and inimical <br />threat to human life, safety or health, the fire code official shall issue such notice or <br />orders to remove or remedy the conditions as shall be deemed necessary in accordance <br />with this section and shall refer the building department for any repairs, alterations, <br />remodeling, removing or demolition required. <br />Minnesota State Building Code 1300.0180 A building or structure regulated by this code <br />is unsafe, for purposes of this part, if it is structurally unsafe, not provided with adequate <br />egress, a fire hazard, or otherwise dangerous to human life. <br />Building service equipment that is regulated by this code is unsafe, for purposes of this <br />part, if it is a fire, electrical, or health hazard or otherwise dangerous to human life. <br />The building official may order any building or portion of a building to be vacated if <br />continued use is dangerous to life, health, or safety of the occupants. <br />To comply with all applicable codes it is required that: <br />1. The sheetrock must be replaced to gain the required fire resistance rating in accordance <br />with Minnesota State Building Code. <br />2.The electrical issues must be repaired in accordance with International Electrical Code. <br />3.The fire detector must be replaced per Minnesota State Fire Code. <br />4.The storage must be neat and orderly per Minnesota State Fire Code. <br />5.A11 construction related issues will require a building permits and inspections by <br />appropriate inspectors. <br />It will be necessary for you to contact the City of Little Canada Administrator Joel <br />Hanson or myself to gain entry into this unit. <br />If you have questions call 651- 766 -4033 or 651- 766 -4040. <br />10 <br />
