MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
OCTOBER 12, 2011
AED'S
Recreation Association and the Little Canada Fire Department would want
to partner with the City and provide their own line of logo wear. It was
the consensus of the Council that Council Member Boss, the City Clerk,
and a representative of the Fire Department meet and work out the details.
The City Administrator reported that the Safety Committee is
recommending that the City provide Automatic External Defibrillators
(AEDs) at four City locations, the City Center, Old Fire Hall, Pioneer
Park, and Spooner Park. He noted that the Committee surveyed
surrounding cities and many have AEDs at city facilities that are utilized
by the general public. It was noted that while Little Canada fire trucks, the
Sheriff's Department squads, and Allina ambulances carry AEDs, it is felt
that these devices should be at various City facilities. It was noted that the
MN Safety Council has AEDs for $1,500 each, but it may be possible to
find these devices at a lesser cost. The Council's consensus was in
support of the purchase of the AEDs, and directed the Safety Committee
to work out location details as well as obtain competitive pricing.
There being no further business, the workshop meeting was adjourned at
7:25 p.m.
Attes ) 2 / c
Joel Hanson, City Administrator
i1 mB er, May •r
6
