MINUTES <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />OCTOBER 6, 2011 <br />DEMONT The Director reported that the City Council has decided to put money <br />RINK back in the budget to reopen the Demont Rink for the 2011/2012 season. <br />The reopening will be at a reduced schedule, and the Director indicated it <br />will likely be a 5 days per week schedule versus the full week. <br />CAPITAL The Director asked if the Commissioners had any suggestions for <br />IMPROVEMENT additional capital improvement projects. Sanders suggested the need for <br />NEEDS additional landscaping in Rondeau Park, particularly on the north and east <br />sides of the park. The Director indicated that he would talk with the City <br />Engineer and City Administrator to determine where that project is at. <br />YOUTH The Director reported that fall gymnastics is underway, and there are <br />REGISTRATIONS approximately 17 children participating. Registrations are currently being <br />taken for the youth basketball league. <br />MARKET The Director reported that Wednesday, October 12, the Market Place <br />PLACE Morning Talks subject is Home Fire Safety. That session will be held <br />MORNING at the Market Place Bingo Hall from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. <br />TALKS <br />3046 The Director reported that the bank accepted the City's offer of $65,000 <br />LaBORE for the purchase of 3046 LaBore Road.
