Hanson <br />www.ci.little- canada. mn. us <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Mayor Blesener and Members of the City Council <br />FROM: Kathy Glanzer, City Clerk <br />DATE: March 6, 2008 <br />RE: Liquor License Fee Increase <br />Attached is my report dated February 7, 2008 outlining the basis for the proposed <br />increase to the On -Sale Liquor License and On -Sale Wine License fees. I have also <br />attached the June 14, 2006 Council minutes at which this basis was established. Based <br />on this information, it is staff's recommendation that these license fees be increased for <br />2008 renewals as follows: <br />Current Proposed <br />On -Sale Liquor License $3,700 $3,923 <br />On -Sale Wine License $535 $567 <br />With regard to the proposal to increase the 2008 license fee for Off -Sale Liquor License, <br />my February 7, 2008 report outlines the fact that State Law was recently changed to <br />allow the increase as proposed: <br />Current Proposed <br />Off -Sale Liquor License $150 $380 <br />$280 if State conditions met. <br />The State conditions are as follows, and it should be noted that all three conditions must <br />be met (see 2007 MN Statutes attached): <br />1. The licensee agrees to have a private vendor train all employees within 60 <br />days of hire and annually thereafter in laws pertaining to the sale of alcohol, the <br />rules for identification checks, and the responsibilities of establishments serving <br />intoxicating liquors; <br />2 <br />
