Most of these changes are housekeeping or clarifying in nature. Below are
summary comments on each change:
All references to Public Works Director anti Accounting Supervisor have been
changed to Public Works Superintendent and Finance Director, respectively (did
not attach these pages).
Page 1 — Removes age reference in fourth paragraph as Federal Law prohibits
public employers from establishing mandatory retirement ages for individuals
who are not firefighters or police officers.
Page 4 — Clarifies that references to "week" are "work week ".
Page 6 — As recommended by LMCIT, employees required to hold CDL drivers
licenses should be subject to periodic motor vehicle records checks. It should be
noted that there are very stringent Federal and State laws relative to certain
driving offenses for CDL drivers, The Personnel Policy references compliance
with those requirements in another section.
Page 9 — Clarifies the definition of work week.
Page 11 — Adds the Health Savings Account (HSA) that will be coupled with the
high deductible health insurance plan option. Clarifies IRS restrictions on
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) should an employee have an HSA. Clarifies
the changes to the Post Employment Health Care Savings Plan that resulted from
the settlement agreement that ICMA -RC reached with the IRS.
1
