SECTION 18 - NON - DISCIPLINARY SEPARATION <br />Resignation <br />A. Any employee wishing to leave the City service in good standing shall file with his <br />supervisor at least fourteen (14) calendar days before leaving a written resignation stating <br />the effective date of this resignation. Failure to comply with this procedure may be <br />considered cause for denying such employee future employment by the City. <br />B. Unauthorized absence from work for a period of three (3) days may be considered by the <br />supervisor as a resignation. <br />Retirement <br />Retiremcnt-is-mandatety -a <br />can be made. <br />Severance Pay <br />ees- whe- are- antieipating retirement should <br />e- date -of- retirement se- adequate plans <br />All regular full -time and part -time employees who leave the employ of the City by resignation, <br />retirement, or death shall receive pay for unused accrued vacation and compensatory time subject <br />to maximum accruals. Employees leaving the City's employ can elect to be compensated for <br />unused accrued vacation or to have the value of accrued vacation deposited in the employee's <br />Post Employment Health Care Savings Plan subject to election requirements of the Plan. <br />All regular full -time and regular part -time employees who leave the employ of the City by <br />resignation, retirement, or death shall receive pay for accrued sick leave based on the schedule <br />below.
