MINUTES
ChI'Y COUNCIL
MAY 23, 2007
Allan felt that Maietta has been a good business owner in the City, and the
only code violation is that the dumpster is not enclosed.
The City Planner indicated that the City could amend the PUD to allow a
temporary structure on the property that must be removed for a certain
period of time each year.
Keis asked if Maietta would be willing to remove the gazebo during the
winter months. Maietta replied that he would. Montour pointed out that
the gazebo would then be a display, and suggested that it be allowed for
six months of the year. Allan agreed. Maietta asked if he could display
the gazebo from March 1' through October 31 ".
The City Administrator noted that when this area was rezoned to PUD
District, the underlying uses for the District were office /warehouse and
office /showroom. He noted that the Temo Sunroom use is
office /showroom, which does provide for some retail use of the property.
Blesener again stated his support for once accessory structure that
incorporates the trash receptacle as well as temporary display of the
gazebo at the back of the property.
Maietta noted that to take down the existing accessory structure and
replace it with a larger one will involve a capital investment that he did not
anticipate. Maietta asked about total square footage that would be
allowed.
Allan stated that the dumpster would not take up much space. She also
suggested that if a new accessory building is constructed, that it have a hip
roof to minimize the view of the structure from Condit Street. The City
Planner estimated that the combined square footage of the two accessory
structures would be 800 square feet. Montour suggested that a new
accessory building be limited to 800 square feet and contingent upon
removal of the existing structure.
The Council discussed the Location of the gazebo, and it was the consensus
that it be allowed in the south side yard behind the front line of the
building.
There was no one else present from the general public wishing to
comment on this matter.
Upon motion by Allan, seconded by Montour, the public hearing was
closed.
12
15
