MINUTES CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT — 620 KELLER PARKWAY — DAVID SCHWIETZ MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING PLANNING COMMISSION LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA JULY 10, 2008 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Planning Commission of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 10th day of July, 2008 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. Chair Dan Knudsen called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following members of the Planning Commission were present at roll call: PLANNING COMMISSION: Mr. Dan Knudsen Mr. Scott Barraclough Mr. Tom Duray Mr. Jon Hall Mr. Jeff Helmeke Mr. Chuck Pechmann MEMBERS ABSENT: Ms. Kate Socha ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Steve Grittman, City Planner Mr. Kevin Helander, Cable TV Ms. Kathy Glanzer, City Clerk Duray recommended approval of the June 12, 2008 minutes as submitted. Motion seconded by Helmeke. Motion carried 6 — 0. The City Planner reported that David Schwietz, 620 Keller Parkway, has made application for a Conditional Use Permit to allow two garages as well as garage space over 1,000 square feet. The Planner noted that the City Code caps the amount of garage space for a residential property at a maximum of 1,500 square feet. The applicant is proposing to construct one small garage that would be approximately 20 feet by 14 feet. He would then tear down his existing garage and construct a two - story, detached garage with a basement for additional storage. The combination of these two garages is approximately 1,547 square feet. The Planner reported that Mr. Schwietz has indicated that his future plan is to tear down his existing house and construct a new home that would be attached to the larger garage. He is planning the redevelopment of his property in stages
