MINUTES <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />NOVEMBER 3, 2011 <br />TRAIL of a feasibility report for the Country Drive trail project with the City <br />Engineer, and would then report back to the Commission. <br />RONDEAU Sanders reviewed in detail a proposed landscape plan for Rondeau <br />PARK Park noting the addition of a heaving planting screen on the eastern <br />Edge of the park to screen adjacent garages, as well as additional <br />landscaping on the north side of the park. Sanders indicated that he has <br />not yet presented this proposed landscape plan to the City Engineer. <br />The Director reported that in discussing this Landscaping with the City <br />Administrator and City Engineer, it was felt that it could be included with <br />the County Road B -2 landscape project and completed this spring. The <br />Director felt that the plan as presented by Sanders achieved the two <br />intended goals, screening the garages to the east and providing the single - <br />family properties on the north with some screening from the park. <br />Maida asked if there has been concern expressed by property owners in <br />the area with the sparse landscaping in Rondeau Park. The Director <br />pointed out that when Rondeau Park was being developed and the site <br />cleared, the City informed adjacent property owners that landscaping <br />would be added as a buffer. Sanders also noted that during the <br />Commission's spring park tour, it was noted that area of Rondeau Park <br />were barren and needed some additional landscaping to improve the look <br />of the park. <br />Sanders again indicated that he would present the plan to the City <br />Engineer for his comment. The Director again noted the potential to <br />include this work with the County Road B -2 landscape work to be done in <br />the spring. <br />Heikke recommended that Sanders and the Director move forward with <br />the Rondeau Park landscaping project as presented this evening. <br />Motion seconded by Sullivan. <br />Motion carried 5 — 0. <br />DEMONT The Director reported that he has discussed the Demont Rink schedule <br />RINK with his rink superintendent, but noted they have not yet finalized <br />SCHEDULE the 2011/2012 winter schedule. At this point they are discussing the <br />possibility of being closed on Monday evenings, and limiting some <br />evening and weekend hours. The Director also noted that he has been in <br />contact with the Roseville Hockey Association to see if they have any <br />interest in renting the facility. The Association is bringing this option to <br />3 <br />
