MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
MARCII 10, 2004
RELATED TO ALTERNATIVE SITES FOR A PUBLIC WORKS
GARAGE
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Anderson.
Ayes (4) Fahey, Anderson, Montour, Blesener.
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
The City Administrator anticipated that the appraisal of the County Road
B property should be completed within a month.
ARCADE/ The Council reviewed the City Engineer's report related to the issue of
LAB ORE access into the undeveloped property in the area of Arcade Street/LaBore
ACCESS Road via the Battista lot on Arcade Street. The City Engineer indicated
ISSUES that given the existing wetland on the Battista property, it is not practical
smosrmissisimei to bring a road in from Arcade Street to provide access for this large
undeveloped area. The Engineer pointed out that access is more feasible
from a point on LaBore Road.
Fahey indicated that he felt the City Engineer was being overly generous
in depicting the extent of the wetland. I-Ie indicated, however, that this
report should be kept on file for reference in considering future
development proposals for this area. Fahey instructed staff to send Mr.
Battista a copy of this report.
Blesener asked if the lots on Beam Avenue could be developed. The City
Engineer indicated that there was property north of Beam that could be
developed.
Fahey stated that if there are other large undeveloped pieces of land in the
City, these tracts should be looked at from a planning standpoint to ensure
that full development is not precluded. Fahey noted that the Engineer's
report for this area indicates that it is not necessary to acquire an easement
off Arcade Street to provide access.
Blesener noted that given the amount of wetland on the Battista property,
only one lot could be developed. Fahey agreed. Fahey noted that the
report is for information purposes at this point. The consensus of the
Council was agreement with the City Engineer's report that access to the
area should not come from Arcade Street.
CONSUMPTION Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
& DISPLAY
LICENSE — RESOL UTIOA NO. 2004 -3 -46 — APPROVING THE RENEWAL OF
11
