MAYOR
Michael I. Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600 ADMINISTRATOR
(651) 484 -2177 / FAX: (651) 484 -4538 Joel R. Hanson
Email: cityhall @ci.little - canada.mn.us
MEMORANDUM
TO: Residents Bordering Potential Development Area
FROM: Joel Hanson, City Administrator
DATE: June 29, 2000
RE: Neighborhood Meeting
At the request of the City Council we are identifying areas in the City for future development
potential so that we can evaluate and finalize thoroughfare plans. The area east of Arcade and
south of LaBore Road has been identified as a possible development site. With the involvement
of multiple owners, an agreement with one another or a private developer would need to be
reached in order to assemble and improve the area for subdivision. Given the proximity to your
property, you are invited to attend a neighborhood meeting to discuss the issues posed by this
potential project.
The meeting will be held Tuesday, July 11, 2000 at 7:00 p.m. in the council chambers of the
Little Canada City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road East. I will be present along with
our Public Works Director, our consulting City Engineer, and Planner. At this meeting, we will
discuss potential development layouts, service by city utilities, and issues associated with
coordinating multiple landowners to facilitate a project. We will also attempt to answer any
questions you may have regarding these topics or other concerns that exist.
To help familiarize you with project possibilities, I am enclosing conceptual development layout
of the property in question. No decision has been made regarding the feasibility of this option,
and options may exist depending on neighborhood comments.
We hope to see you on July 11th as we begin to evaluate the feasibility of development in this
area.
CC: Mayor & City Coucil
Terry Maurer, City Engineer
Steve Grittman, City Planner
Greg Schroeder, Director of Public Works
\ \CLCSRVOI\HOMEVessicaj \Greg S\neighborhood meeting.doc
