Specifically IBC code requirements for exterior walls located within <br />3' -0" of a property line. <br />Interior fire wall <br />An additional interior (1) hour (fire wall) shall be provided, adjacent to the existing (1) hour <br />wall (fire wall), from the building footing to the underside of the roof deck. The new fire <br />wall shall be of sufficient structural stability under fire conditions to allow collapse of <br />construction of existing fire wall without the collapse of proposed fire wall for the duration <br />of the fire- resistant rating. See attached sketch for existing and proposed wall assemblies. <br />The additional interior wall will result in modifications to one of the two residence interior <br />spaces and modifications to both unit attic spaces. <br />Lower Level: Provide 5/8" <br />type "X" gypsum board over ledger beam at top of CMU footing. Existing CMU <br />footing already has two (1) hour fire resistant rating partitions resting on treated sill <br />plates. Existing partitions appear to each be constructed of (1) layer 5/8" type "X" <br />gypsum board, 3 1/2" wood studs; fiberglass insulation and (1) layer 5/8" type "X" <br />gypsum board. Partitions extend form the top of foundation wall to floor line of <br />second level. Finish all gypsum board walls to match existing. <br />First Level: Provide fire partition in open stair hall way and bathroom /laundry <br />room. Bathroom/laundry room door width shall be revised from 2' -8" to 2' -4 ". <br />Revise in floor supply register to accommodate new fire partition. Finish all gypsum <br />board walls to match existing. <br />Second Level: Extend existing fire partition at open stair through second level <br />ceiling to attic space. Existing soffit above open stair shall be revised to allow fire <br />partition to extend through soffit. Fire wall shall be provided in bathroom and <br />bedroom closet. Bathroom door width shall be revised from 2' -8" to 2' -4 ". Existing <br />tub enclosure shall be removed and smaller tub enclosure provided.
