CITY OF LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />ORDINANCE NO. 622 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 809 OF THE LITTLE CANADA CITY CODE, <br />KNOWN AS THE MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATIVE TO MIXED MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE <br />AND RECYCLABLE MATERIALS STORAGE AND COLLECTION <br />The City Council of the City of Little Canada hereby ordains: <br />Section 1. <br />Section 809.020 is hereby amended as follows: <br />(K) Organized Collection. A system for collecting mixed municipal solid waste in which <br />a specified collector(s) is authorized to collect from a defined geographic service area or areas, some <br />or all of the mixed municipal solid waste, recycling and yard waste that is released by generators for <br />collection. <br />(M) Recyclable Materials Materials that are separated from mixed municipal solid waste <br />for the purpose of recycling, including newspaper, corrugated cardboard, ledger paper, bi -metal <br />cans, and aluminum cans, plastic bottles with a neck, glass bottles and jars, mixed mail, and <br />magazines. Recyclable materials specifically excludes yard waste. <br />Section 2. <br />Section 809.140 is hereby amended as follows: <br />(A) Charge for Service. There is hereby imposed upon each low density dwelling unit <br />within the City from which mixed municipal solid waste and recyclable materials is collected or may <br />be collected by the City or its representative, a monthly charge for such services, which charge shall <br />be billed in accordance with schedules established by the contracted hauler(s) and the City and as <br />approved by resolution of the City Council. <br />(B) Utility Bill Mailing. All bills and notices shall be sent to the property address If a <br />non - residing owner desires bills and notices be sent to a different address they shall notify the Utility <br />Billing Department. If the property owner has requested bills and notices be sent to the property's <br />tenant, and should the tenant be delinquent in payment of account balances the property owner shall <br />be ultimately responsible for payment of said above contract charges. <br />(C) Utility Bill Payment. Statements for utility charges for the preceding quarterly <br />period shall be mailed to each customer on or before the 15th day of January. April, July, and October <br />of each year. Any account which remains unpaid thirty (30) or more days after the bill is mailed is a <br />809 -1 <br />2- <br />
