Manson <br />www.ciiittle-canada.mn.us <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Mayor Blesener and Members of the City Council <br />FROM: Kathy Glanzer, City Clerk <br />DATE: January 12, 2007 <br />RE: <br />Massage Therapy Establishment License — Accessory Use <br />Snap Fitness <br />2800 Rice Street <br />Snap Fitness has made application for a Massage Therapy Establishment License as an <br />accessory use to their fitness center. Provided that the Council amends the Municipal <br />Code to expand the massage therapy accessory use to include fitness centers in addition <br />to beauty salons, the application materials are in order pending a Sheriff's Department <br />Background Check on Mr. Mark Shackleton, owner of Snap Fitness. <br />Any massage therapists working at Snap Fitness will be required to submit individual <br />license applications as well as documentation that they have the appropriate education as <br />required under our Code. Sheriff's background checks would be run on the therapists. <br />The City Code limits the number of massage therapists working at a location to no more <br />than three. <br />
