OLD FIRE HALL USE POLICY <br />The following guidelines are intended to govern the use of the Old Fire Hall by non -City entities. It is <br />to be understood that City functions will have first priority for use of the facilities in question. <br />Regularly scheduled, non -City uses will have second priority. All other uses will be on a first -come, <br />first- served basis, subject to staff determination. <br />The areas of the building to which access will be granted are limited to the lower level, including <br />kitchen and restroom facilities. Access to other areas of the building is to be allowed only with <br />specific permission by City staff. <br />Access to the Old Fire Hall is limited to adult- based, non - profit groups with a civic purpose and <br />community benefit. Access is not allowed to groups created for private benefit or gain. Approved <br />groups are as follows: <br />Canadian Days Committee; <br />Lake Gervais Association; <br />Little Canada Fire Department; <br />Little Canada Historical Society; <br />Little Canada Recreation Association; <br />Little Canada townhome /condominium associations /neighborhood groups; <br />Other groups of which the City is a member and /or may be hosting a meeting. <br />Any group not included in the list as being "approved" for Old Fire Hall use would have to make a <br />written application to City staff. This application must document the group's purpose, background, <br />key officials, and intended functions to be conducted in the building. Staff will review the submittals <br />and decide whether the group meets the parameters established. If the request is denied, the group <br />would have the option of appealing staffs decision to the City Council. <br />Access to and use of the Old Fire Hall is allowed to private individuals who have an approved facility <br />permit. <br />The Old Fire Hall is a City designated storm /emergency shelter. <br />The use of the Old Fire hall for fund - raising activities is not allowed, except by City - approved groups. <br />For any meeting that is open to the general public, City staff may need to be present to open, supervise, <br />and secure the building. A charge for this service will be imposed, if it is determined necessary. <br />State and County regulations must be complied with in regard to food and liquor sales. <br />Issuance of keys and /or security codes is at the sole discretion of the City Administrator. <br />The privilege of using the facilities in question can be revoked at any time due to misuse of the <br />building or other issues of concern as determined by the City. <br />
