The following are my findings of a Fire Inspection that was done 01- 08 -07. <br />Electrical Equipment, Wiring and Hazards <br />All identified electrical hazards shall be abated. Electrical wiring, devices, appliances and <br />other electrical equipment that is modified or damaged and constitutes an electrical shock <br />or fire hazard shall not be used. <br />a) Multi -plug adapters shall not be used. <br />b) Open electrical boxes with wiring showing shall be cover with approved covers. <br />Electrical panels shall have approved panel covers. <br />c) All wiring to the paint booth shall be explosion proof and be grounded. <br />d) All extension cords shall be maintained in good condition without splices, <br />deterioration or damage. <br />e) Extension cords are for temporary use only not to be used as permanent wiring. <br />f) All wiring to the paint storage /mixing room shall be explosion proof. <br />All electrical shall meet ICC Electrical Codes. All electrical violations that do not meet <br />ICC Electrical code shall be removed, repaired or replaced. All corrective actions shall be <br />done with licensed contractors and proper permits. <br />General Precautions Against Fire <br />Combustible waste materials creating a fire hazard shall not be allowed to accumulate in <br />buildings or structures. <br />a) Storage in buildings shall be neat and orderly. <br />b) Storage near heaters or heating devices shall be separated by distance or shielding <br />so ignition cannot occur. <br />c) Storage shall be maintained 2 feet below the ceiling in non -fire sprinkler protected <br />buildings. Remove excess storage to maintain the 2 -foot distance throughout the <br />building. <br />d) Remove combustibles stored in exits or exit enclosures. <br />e) Remove combustible storage in electrical and mechanical rooms. <br />f) Combustible storage in attic, under floor or concealed spaces shall be protected on <br />the storage side by 1 -hour fire resistive construction. <br />g) Remove storage from exposed joists. <br />h) Automatic fire sprinklers shall protect storage beneath outside overhead projections. <br />A licensed fire sprinkler contractor is needed to evaluate outside projections for <br />sprinkler coverage. <br />All storage must comply with Minnesota State Fire Code. All fire sprinkler and <br />construction shall meet the International Building Code and Minnesota State Fire Code <br />with proper permits. <br />- 1 3 - <br />
