MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
NOVEMBER 9, 2011
McGraw introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2011 -11 -223 — TEMPORARILY ADJOURNING THE
CITY COUNCIL MEETING AND CONVENING INTO CLOSED SESSION
TO DISCUSS THE POTENTIAL PURCHASE OF 477 LITTLE CANADA
ROAD AS WELL AS THE POTENTIAL PURCHASE OF PROPERTIES
ADJACENT TO 167 SOUTH OWASSO BLVD. AS RECOMMENDED BY
THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Boss.
Ayes (5).
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
The Council convened into closed session at 7:46 p.m., although it was noted
that it would take a few minutes for the Cable TV Producer to switch out the
tape for recording purposes.
The Council reconvened into regular session at 8:32 p.m.
The City Administrator reported that during the closed session the Council
discussed the potential purchase of 477 Little Canada Road as it related to the
City's ownership of 167 South Owasso Blvd. and the potential purchase of
additional properties adjacent to 167 South Owasso Blvd. After consideration of
the issues, it was the Council's consensus to not make an offer to purchase 477
Little Canada Road due to land use concerns relative to a Public Works site on
this property as well as concerns regarding the financial feasibility of converting
the space for use by Public Works. The City Administrator reported that he
would inform the property owner of this consensus, and indicated that if
conditions change, the City may be willing to consider the purchase of this site
for future economic development purposes.
ADJOURN Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2011 -10 -225 — ADJOURNING
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw.
Ayes (5).
Nays (0).
