MINUTES CITY COUNCIL JUNE 27, 2007 The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour. Ayes (4). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. PARK The City Administrator reviewed the recommendation of the Parks & DEDICATION Recreation Commission relative to an increase in the City's park FEE dedication fee. It was noted that the current fee structure has been in place for a number of years; therefore, the increase being recommended is quite substantial. The Parks & Recreation Commission has indicated that they will be reviewing this fee on an annual basis so as not to have an increase as substantial as the one proposed in the future. The Council indicated their support for the increase, but asked for additional information as to the fees charged by the surrounding cities as well as the names of the cities listed in the Hoisington Koegler Group report. It was further noted that the Park Dedication Fee is collected on the building permit for new construction. Ms. Allan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2007-6-156 — DIRECTING CITY STAFF TO PREPARE AN ORDINANCE AMENDMENT FOR INCREASING THE PARK DEDICATION FEE AS RECOMMENDED BY THE PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw. Ayes (4). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. The City Administrator noted that the proposed ordinance amendment and specific fee information will be presented to the Council at an upcoming meeting. WORKSHOP The City Administrator recommended that the Council call for a workshop MEETING — meeting with the Planning Commission to continue its study of outdoor OUTDOOR storage issues. It was noted that the Council currently has a moratorium STORAGE in place relative to outdoor storage. AND CONCEPT The Administrator recommended that the workshop also include REVIEWS discussion on the concept review process to determine if there are improvements that can be made to that process. 19 -14-
