City of Little Canada, Minnesota Ordinance AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 800 OF THE LITTLE CANADA CITY CODE BY PROVIDING FOR THE REGULATION OF TATTOO PARLORS AND SIMILAR ESTABLISHMENT, AND AMENDING CHAPTER 915, PROVIDING FOR TATTOO PARLORS IN THE "PUD ", PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT. The City Council of the City of Little Canada hereby ordains: Section 1. Section 800 is hereby amended to add Section 822 as follows: 822. Tattoo Parlors and Similar Establishments 822.010. PURPOSE AND INTENT. It is the purpose of this Section to regulate the operation of tattoo parlors, body piercing, body art, and similar establishments within the City in order to ensure that such establishments are operated in a sanitary and orderly fashion, and do not become a threat to public health, safety, or general welfare. 822.020. LOCATIONS. Establishments subject to this Section shall only be allowed in those zoning districts as specified in the Little Canada Zoning Ordinance, Chapter 900 of the City Code. 822.030. LICENSE REQUIRED. In addition to any zoning approvals, each establishment subject to this section shall be required to obtain a license from the City Clerk. No such license shall be issued until approved by the City Council, or until the City Council has approved all necessary zoning requirements. The City Council may add conditions to the approval of the license as necessary to enforce the intent of this Section. 822.040. LICENSE CONDITIONS. Approval of a license under this Section shall only be granted when the applicant for such license has been found to comply with the following conditions, and any other conditions added by the City Council: A. The license shall be required for tattooing, body piercing, and other body art establishments, with the exception of ear piercing as an accessory use to jewelry sales.
