Bryce lives in Little Canada and will be a tremendous addition to
our staff. He is currently a student at the University of Wisconsin — River Falls and will
have three classes remaining after this semester to earn his bachelor's degree in Business.
Bryce has worked with Public Works the past three summers as a seasonal employee and
has done a great job. He knows the City very well and is also very familiar with the
department operations.
Due to the close proximity to the position we filled in September we used the same pool
of candidates that we had for the prior opening. Mr. Shearen's employment is subject to
his passing a physical and drug test once he returns from school for Christmas break. He
is scheduled to start his employment on January 2 provided he passes the aforementioned
tests. I would recommend a starting wage of $18.67 /hour with an increase to
$19.13 /hour, step one of the public works maintenance worker scale, in six months
subject to a satisfactory review.
Please join me in welcoming Mr. Shearen to the City of Little Canada staff.
