186. Sian - Projecting. A sign, other than a wall sign, which is affixed to a building and <br />which extends perpendicular from the building wall. <br />187. Sign - Real Estate. A business sign placed upon a property advertising that <br />particular property for sale, for rent or for lease. <br />188. Sign - Roof. Any sign which is erected, constructed or attached wholly or in part <br />upon or over the roof of a building. <br />189. Sign - Rotating. A sign which revolves or rotates on its axis by mechanical means. <br />190. Sign - Structure. The supports, uprights, bracing and framework for a sign <br />including the sign area. <br />191. Sign - Temporary. Any sign which is erected or displayed for a specific period of <br />time. <br />192. Sign - Wall. A sign which is affixed to the exterior wall of a building and which is <br />parallel to the building wall. A wall sign does not project more than twelve (12) <br />inches from the surface to which it is attached, nor extend beyond the top of the <br />parapet wall. <br />193. Sign - Wall Graphic. A sign which is painted directly on an exterior wall surface. <br />194. Sign - Window. A sign affixed to or inside of a window in view of the general <br />public. This does not include merchandise on display. <br />195. Significant Historic Site. Any archaeological site, standing structure, or other <br />property that meets the criteria for eligibility to the National Register of Historic <br />Places or is listed in the State Register of Historic Site, or is determined to be an <br />unplatted cemetery that falls under the provisions of Minnesota Statutes, Section <br />307.08. A historic site meets these criteria if it is presently listed on either register <br />or if it is determined to meet the qualifications for listing after review by the <br />Minnesota State Archaeologist or the director of the Minnesota Historical Society. <br />All unplatted cemeteries are automatically considered to be significant historic <br />sites. <br />196. Slope. Means the degree of deviation of a surface from the horizontal usually <br />expressed in percent or degree. <br />197. Sports and Health Club. A business offering physical fitness facilities and <br />programs, sports activities, lessons, and /or practice facilities to the public or to <br />private membership under the supervision of an attendant, including exercise <br />programs, swimming pools, handball, tennis and racquet courts, batting cages, <br />gymnasiums, or other similar facilities. Self-service or coin - operated games are <br />not included within the meaning of this use. <br />902 -19 <br />- 5 2 - <br />
