174. Sign - Directional. A sign erected on public or private property which bears the <br />address and /or name of a business, institution, church or other use of activity plus <br />directional arrows or information on location. <br />175. Sign - Directory. An exterior informational wall sign which identifies the names <br />of businesses served by a Common Public Entrance in a shopping center. <br />176. Sign - Holiday Signs. A holiday sign shall be defined as decorations and /or <br />messages which recognize an official national, state or local holiday. <br />177. Sign - Illuminated. Any sign which is lighted by an artificial light source either <br />directed upon it or illuminated from an interior source. <br />178. Sign - Informational. Any sign giving information to employees, visitors or <br />delivery vehicles, but containing no advertising or identification. Gas price signs <br />may be considered an informational sign above the size limitations imposed <br />within the respective zoning district. <br />179. Sign - Institutional. A sign which identifies the name and other characteristics of a <br />public or semi - public institution on the site where the sign is located. <br />180. Sign - Integral. A sign carrying the name of a building, its date of erection, <br />monumental citations, commemorative tablets and the like when carved into <br />stone, concrete or similar material or made of bronze, aluminum or other <br />permanent type of construction and made an integral part of the structure. <br />181. Sign - Maximum Height Of. The vertical distance measured from the grade to the <br />top of such a sign. <br />182. Sign - Minimum Height Of. The vertical distance measured from the nearest <br />finished grade to the lower limit of such sign. <br />183. Sign - Motion. Any sign which revolves, rotates, has any moving parts or gives <br />the illusion of motion. <br />184. Sign - Non - Conforming, <br />a. Legal. A sign which lawfully existed at the time of the passage of this <br />Ordinance or amendment thereto, but which does not conform with the <br />regulations of this Ordinance, is legal. <br />b. Illegal. A sign which was constructed after the passage of this Ordinance <br />or amendments thereto and does not conform with the regulations of this <br />Ordinance is illegal. <br />185. Sign - Portable. A sign so designed as to be movable from one location to another <br />and which is not permanently attached to the ground, sales display device, or <br />structure. <br />91r-1R <br />-51- <br />
