MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JANUARY 9, 2012
City of St. Anthony, and that City Administrator understands Little
Canada's transition needs.
Mr. Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2012 -1 -9 — APPROVING THE AGREEMENT
FOR SERVICES WITH SHELLY RUECKERT AND AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR AND CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis.
Ayes (5).
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
AGREEMENT The City Administrator reported that he has looked at a number of interim
FOR options to ensure that the City's accounting activities are kept current
ACCOUNTING during the staffing transition period in the Accounting Department. Of
SERVICES — these options, the City Administrator indicated that he is recommending
CITY OF the City contract with the City of Roseville on an interim basis. Roseville
ROSEVILLE will provide 10 hours per week of upper level staffing at $65 per hour
(Assistant Finance Director) and 10 hours per week of accountant staffing
at $24 per hour (Accounting Technician). The Administrator felt this
would be adequate in the interim, and will give the City an opportunity to
review Accounting Department staffing levels to determine what is
appropriate for the long term. The Administrator noted that the City has
two positions to fill in this department, and he would like additional time
to determine the appropriate position level and number of hours. The
Administrator indicated that after the City of Roseville has provided
assistance for a few weeks, their Finance Director would likely be able to
provide some guidance in this regard.
The Council discussed the fact that Little Canada already contracts with
Roseville for IT services. The Administrator noted that the Roseville
Finance Department has provided interim accounting services for other
cities, specifically Lake Elmo and Arden Hills. He anticipated that the
number of hours proposed would be adequate, but felt if that were not the
case, Roseville would be able to accommodate the City in the short term.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2012 -1 -10 — APPROVING THE AGREEMENT
FOR ACCOUNTING SERVICES WITH THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE
AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY ADMINISTRATOR
TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY
5
