MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JANUARY 9, 2012 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />APPROVAL The City Administrator reported that upon approval of the SCORE Grant <br />OF SCORE Agreement relative to the City's recycling program, the City will receive <br />RECYCLING 2012 grant funds in the amount of $20,260. <br />GRANT <br />AGREEMENT Mr. Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2012 -1 -12 — APPROVING THE 2012 SCORE <br />FUNDING RECYCLING GRANT AGREEMENT AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY ATTORNEY TO <br />EXECUTE ON BEHALF OF THE CITY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Boss. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />ANIMAL The City Administrator noted that as part of 2012 Budget discussions the <br />CONTROL Council was informed that the Ramsey County Sheriff's Department <br />CONTRACT would be taking over animal control services and the City would no longer <br />be contracting with Animal Control Services, Inc. The Administrator <br />reported that due to personnel- related processes, the Sheriff's Department <br />is not yet ready to undertake this service. It is their hope to have the hiring <br />process completed in the first quarter of this year. The Administrator <br />reported that Animal Control Services is agreeable to providing Little <br />Canada animal control services on an interim basis. <br />The Administrator reviewed the interim contract and noted that 2011 rates <br />would continue. He also noted that the agreement will terminate upon <br />March 31, 2012 or with 14 days notices. The Administrator also indicated <br />that, if necessary, Animal Control Services would continue the agreement <br />beyond March 31, 2012. <br />Mr. McGraw introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2012 -1 -13 — APPROVING THE INTERIM <br />ANIMAL CONTROL CONRACT WITH ANIMAL CONTROL <br />SERVICES, INC.
