MINUTES CITY COUNCIL JANUARY 9, 2012 The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw. Ayes (5). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. APPROVAL The City Administrator reported that upon approval of the SCORE Grant OF SCORE Agreement relative to the City's recycling program, the City will receive RECYCLING 2012 grant funds in the amount of $20,260. GRANT AGREEMENT Mr. Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2012 -1 -12 — APPROVING THE 2012 SCORE FUNDING RECYCLING GRANT AGREEMENT AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY ATTORNEY TO EXECUTE ON BEHALF OF THE CITY The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Boss. Ayes (5). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. ANIMAL The City Administrator noted that as part of 2012 Budget discussions the CONTROL Council was informed that the Ramsey County Sheriff's Department CONTRACT would be taking over animal control services and the City would no longer be contracting with Animal Control Services, Inc. The Administrator reported that due to personnel- related processes, the Sheriff's Department is not yet ready to undertake this service. It is their hope to have the hiring process completed in the first quarter of this year. The Administrator reported that Animal Control Services is agreeable to providing Little Canada animal control services on an interim basis. The Administrator reviewed the interim contract and noted that 2011 rates would continue. He also noted that the agreement will terminate upon March 31, 2012 or with 14 days notices. The Administrator also indicated that, if necessary, Animal Control Services would continue the agreement beyond March 31, 2012. Mr. McGraw introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2012 -1 -13 — APPROVING THE INTERIM ANIMAL CONTROL CONRACT WITH ANIMAL CONTROL SERVICES, INC. AS PROPOSED BY THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR 7
