the drop -off service with said fees to be low enough to create an <br />incentive to use the service. Said fees shall be used by the City to <br />offset the tipping fees associated with the disposal of materials <br />collected. Items to be collected shall include, but are not limited to: <br />construction material, scrap iron, tires, furniture, recyclables, and <br />refuse. The Contractor City shall be responsible for collecting fees at <br />the time of drop off. <br />k. Notification. If any resident of the City places any items out for pickup <br />and the item is not taken by the Contractor, the Contractor shall <br />provide immediate written notification to the resident ofreason(s) for <br />refusal to pick up the item. Notification must be left on the item(s) in <br />question. <br />1. Exceptions for Handicapped and /or Disabled. Reasonable exceptions <br />as to the manner of pickup for handicapped or disabled residents shall <br />be made by the Contractor. <br />2. Yard Waste Collection. <br />a. Description. Yard waste collection service shall include the collection <br />of all yard waste from residential dwelling units in the City of Little <br />Canada. Cost for this service is described in Attachment "A." <br />b. Location. Residential dwelling units shall have their yard waste <br />segregated from other refuse in a plastic bag or a permanent can <br />clearly identified as "Yard Waste" located at the boulevard adjoining <br />the curb on or before 7:00 a.m. on the designated day of collection. <br />c. Frequency. Yard Waste Collection Service shall be provided from <br />April 151 through November 30th each year and each residential <br />dwelling unit shall have its yard waste collected a minimum of once <br />per week on the same day as refuse collection service. <br />d. Reporting. Tonnages or yards of yard waste collected shall be reported <br />to the City on a bi- annual basis. <br />e. Conveyance of Yard Waste. The Contractor shall be responsible for <br />the safe, legal, and environmentally sound conveyance of all yard <br />waste collected under this Contract. The Contractor shall convey the <br />yard waste to a lawfully approved compost site and shall assume <br />all liability and responsibility for materials deposited as- appreved <br />by the City. The Contractor shall not mix other types of refuse or <br />inorganic materials with the yard waste or take any action so as to <br />-6- <br />
