make the yard waste material unacceptable to the operators of the <br />compost site. <br />f. Notification. If any resident of the City places yard waste out for pickup <br />and the material is not taken by the Contractor, the Contractor shall <br />provide immediate written notification to the resident of reason(s) for <br />refusal to pick up the item. Notification must be left on the item(s) in <br />question. <br />g. <br />Education. It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to assist in the <br />education of residents on how to properly prepare yard waste. <br />Contractor will work with City staff on a quarterly basis to prepare <br />written materials for residents. <br />3. Recycling Collection. <br />a. Description. Recyclable collections service shall include the collection <br />of newsprint, magazines, catalogs, direct mail advertising, <br />envelopes of all types, paperbacks, file folders, note books, clean <br />paper bags, white and colored paper, fax sheets, boxboard from <br />cereals, cakes and chips, phone books, plastics with a neck, junk <br />mail, corrugated cardboard, ledger paper, rinsed metal food cans, <br />aluminum beverage cans, . . , . •: eelered rinsed glass <br />bottles and jars (without lids and caps) and rinsed plastic <br />containers with necks ( but without lids, pumps and metal <br />handles) from residential dwelling units within the City of Little <br />Canada. Cost for this service is described in Attachment "A" based <br />on the spreadsheet in Attachment "C ". <br />b. Containers. The Contractor shall supply Aall residential dwelling <br />units who wish to participate in the recycling program will be <br />supplied a single sort recycling containers on wheels, previded -by <br />the City, for the storage and collection of recyclable materials agreed <br />. In the case of Gene's Disposal <br />customers, the contractor shall provide suitable recycling <br />container for two -sort collection. <br />c. Single Twe Sort System. Residents will be instructed to eel ingle -two <br />groups -ef put all recyclable materials, listed in the description <br />above, into the single sort container.
