collection/processing system without written approval of the City. <br />Failure to receive City approval for any such changes to the "two <br />rt" single sort collection/processing system <br />for City collccti ns or material processing shall be considered by the <br />City as a breach of this Agreement subject to termination. The <br />Contractor shall work with the City to provide necessary written <br />educational materials on the single sort system for residents <br />including a legible sticker placed on each container that lists <br />approved recyclable items. <br />d. Location. Residential dwelling units shall have their recyclables in the <br />approved single sort containers provided by the Contractor <br />located at the boulevard adjoining the curb on or before 7:00 a.m. on <br />the designated day of collection. <br />e. Frequency. Each residential dwelling unit shall have its recyclables <br />collected every -other a minimum of once per week on the same day <br />as refuse collection service. The Contractor shall provide an <br />annual calendar to each resident by no later than December 20th <br />that indicates the collection dates for the upcoming year. <br />f. Reporting. Tonnages of recyclables collected shall be reported to the <br />City on a bi- annual basis. These tonnages must be reported by <br />individual materials collected and the place where the recyclables are <br />delivered must be disclosed. If the tonnages are estimates, the <br />method of estimation must also be disclosed and Contractor will do <br />everything possible to ensure the accuracy of estimates. <br />g. <br />Conveyance of Recvclables. The Contractor shall be responsible for <br />the safe, legal, and environmentally sound conveyance of all <br />recyclables collected under this Contract. The Contractor shall <br />convey the recyclables to a market that assures these materials will <br />not be landfilled. The Contractor shall not mix other types of refuse <br />or inorganic materials with the recyclables or take any action so as to <br />make the recyclable material unacceptable to the operators of the <br />recycling center. <br />h. Material Preparation & Separation Requirements. The Contractor is <br />responsible for immediately informing residential dwelling units of <br />how to properly prepare recyclables for collection. If the Contractor <br />fails to pick up a recyclable at a residential dwelling unit because it <br />was improperly prepared, it is the Contractor's responsibility to <br />immediately inform in writing the residential dwelling unit on how to <br />properly prepare the recyclables so that they will be acceptable for <br />-8- <br />- 1 0 - <br />
