collection/processing system without written approval of the City. Failure to receive City approval for any such changes to the "two rt" single sort collection/processing system for City collccti ns or material processing shall be considered by the City as a breach of this Agreement subject to termination. The Contractor shall work with the City to provide necessary written educational materials on the single sort system for residents including a legible sticker placed on each container that lists approved recyclable items. d. Location. Residential dwelling units shall have their recyclables in the approved single sort containers provided by the Contractor located at the boulevard adjoining the curb on or before 7:00 a.m. on the designated day of collection. e. Frequency. Each residential dwelling unit shall have its recyclables collected every -other a minimum of once per week on the same day as refuse collection service. The Contractor shall provide an annual calendar to each resident by no later than December 20th that indicates the collection dates for the upcoming year. f. Reporting. Tonnages of recyclables collected shall be reported to the City on a bi- annual basis. These tonnages must be reported by individual materials collected and the place where the recyclables are delivered must be disclosed. If the tonnages are estimates, the method of estimation must also be disclosed and Contractor will do everything possible to ensure the accuracy of estimates. g. Conveyance of Recvclables. The Contractor shall be responsible for the safe, legal, and environmentally sound conveyance of all recyclables collected under this Contract. The Contractor shall convey the recyclables to a market that assures these materials will not be landfilled. The Contractor shall not mix other types of refuse or inorganic materials with the recyclables or take any action so as to make the recyclable material unacceptable to the operators of the recycling center. h. Material Preparation & Separation Requirements. The Contractor is responsible for immediately informing residential dwelling units of how to properly prepare recyclables for collection. If the Contractor fails to pick up a recyclable at a residential dwelling unit because it was improperly prepared, it is the Contractor's responsibility to immediately inform in writing the residential dwelling unit on how to properly prepare the recyclables so that they will be acceptable for -8- - 1 0 -
