CITY OF LITTLE CANADA <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br />AN INTERIM ORDINANCE EXTENDING A MORATORIUM ON THE ISSUANCE <br />OF PERMITS FOR ADVERTISING SIGNS, AS DEFINED IN THE ZONING CODE <br />OF THE CITY OF LITTLE CANADA, AND THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS FOR <br />ADVERTISING DEVICES IN ADJACENT AREAS, ADJACENT TO THE RIGHT - <br />OF -WAY OF AN INTERSTATE OR TRUNK HIGHWAY, AS DEFINED IN MINN. <br />STAT. §173.02, WITHIN THE CITY OF LITTLE CANADA. <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE CANADA HEREBY ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: <br />An Interim Ordinance extending a moratorium relating to certain property within <br />the City of Little Canada. <br />(A) Purpose and Intent. The City of Little Canada has adopted a <br />Comprehensive Plan and Official Controls, pursuant to Minn, Stat. § §462.351 to <br />462.354, and the Little Canada City Council has authorized staff to conduct a study to <br />analyze existing uses, proposed uses, and existing zoning of the property described below <br />within the City of Little Canada, for the purpose of considering amendments to the <br />Comprehensive Plan or Official Controls relating to the property described below. <br />(B) Pursuant to Minn. Stat. § §462.355, subd. 4, this interim ordinance, for the <br />purpose of protecting the planning process and the health, safety, and welfare of Little <br />Canada citizens, hereby prohibits the issuance of permits for advertising signs, as defined <br />in the Zoning Code of the City of Little Canada, and the issuance of permits for <br />advertising devices in adjacent areas, adjacent to the right -of -way of an interstate or trunk <br />highway, as defined in Minn. Stat. § 173.02, within the City of Little Canada. <br />(C) This interim ordinance extends the moratorium created by Ordinance No. <br />596, which will expire on October 12, 2006. The moratorium, as extended, shall expire <br />on , , if not extended or repealed prior to that time. <br />PASSED by the City Council of Little Canada this day of , 2006. <br />ATTEST: <br />Joel R.
