Hanson <br />www. ci.little -c anada. mn. us <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Mayor Blesener and Members of the City Council <br />FROM: Joel Hanson, City Administrator <br />DATE: September 22, 2006 <br />RE: Boss Property Development Issues <br />The City Planner has discussed Code requirements with Dick Boss for the subdivision <br />and development of his property at 57 E. Bryan Street. Pursuant to City Code <br />requirements (see attached) and given the configuration of the Boss lot, a subdivision <br />would require the construction of City street since a lot is required to have a minimum of <br />75 feet of frontage on an improved street. <br />Mr. Boss has requested an opportunity to address the Council on the possibility of <br />subdividing the lot without the need for the road improvement. His proposal would be to <br />access the new lot via a private driveway. This would result in the need for a Variance in <br />conjunction with the Property Division. As the Council is aware, a hardship that is non- <br />economic in nature would have to exist in order to warrant the granting of a Variance. <br />The City Planner will be prepared to comment on this matter at Wednesday's meeting. <br />cc: Dick Boss <br />
