west side in this case would be considered the side yard, Was a variance issued for this
storage area?
The Redleaf Press Building at 10 Yorkton Court is located on the SE corner of Yorkton
Court and Yorkton Blvd. Like our building it is located on a corner and the narrow side
of the building faces a direction other than the address or in other words it is orientated to
the Yorkton Blvd side as the front side. This building also has outdoor storage on the
south side of the building, which if we use the Planners interpretation would be
considered the side yard but it is also adjacent to residential properties. Was a variance
issued for this storage area?
It is quite obvious that the layout of the buildings in our small industrial park is unique.
We feel that common sense would favor our position that the front of our building is on
Yorkton Blvd. and that the location of our proposed outdoor storage would be located in
the rear yard as also could be the case with our two neighbors. We don't understand why
a variance would be required in our situation but if it was previously granted to our two
neighbors it should also be granted in our situation since the three of us are similar in
nature.
As I mentioned in our original letter, we have been a tenant in the building since 1999
and purchased the building March 15, 2006. Since that time we have made
improvements to the property in excess of$250,000. A real and true hardship would
exist if we could not again have outdoor storage and continue to operate our business at
this location.
If you have questions or require additional information please give me a call.
Sincerely,
Thomas Kromroy
C.C.
