• Ruth Street — I have been working with the four plex property owners along Ruth
Street to get this area cleaned up. The majority of the complaints have been about
the southern units on the street. I have work extensively with the last unit 2532-
38 Ruth Street. During my efforts to get this unit cleaned up the property changed
ownership, for the good although it slowed down the progress. At this time, the
junk car, trailers, debris, and junk have been picked up around the site. These
renters were accessing this property off of Demont Avenue and driving along the
railroad tracks. This new owner is reseeding this area and working to reestablish
turf. One of the garage stalls had been converted to a living unit for a renter to
use and as well possible commercial activities out of the other stalls. Working
with this owner I have inspected inside the garages on several occasions, I believe
at this time there is no commercial activity happening out of the garage. The
dwelling unit has been converted back to and is being used as a storage /garage
unit. As well, this property owner resurfaced the driveway and has plans to
replace the decks and garage doors by this fall.
• Labore Road - I haven't received any complaints, however, there are several
properties along Labore Road that I have observed with code violations. I will be
starting to focus on this area and will be sending letters out to property owners
about junk cars, nuisance (grass /weeds), front yard parking, and junk /debris.
There are roughly ten property owners that will be receiving these friendly
reminders.
• 2966 Arcade Street — I have issued 11 citations each to Brad Walls (property
owner), Michael Schneider (partner /possible owner), and Jimmy Richardson
(renter /former owner) regarding violations with this site. Since issuing the
citations on July 11, 2006, staff does not believe any of the violations have been
corrected. I believe the clean up efforts have stopped by all parties. I will be
looking into alternative options to continue enforcement on this site. There may
be some hazardous building options or abatement matters we can pursue.
• Outdoor Storage — I have sent letters to the four sites in the I -P district that have
unapproved outdoor storage. One of the properties has already made application
for review and the other three should be coming up in the next few meeting
cycles.
■ Review of existing CUP's — Towards the end of this year, I would like to work on
reviewing past CUP's approved and confirming continued compliance on the site.
• Frank Frattalone — I have inspected the old Pioneer Cabinets property along Rice
Street. I will be working with Frank to complete the revised site plan showing
specific outdoor storage locations. The landscaping has been completed, but
needs to be touched up in some areas. In addition, I will be working with him on
completion of the security fencing. At the time of the inspection, staff noted 6 -7
motorhomes on the Rice Street site. Per Frank, these trailers are being lived in
during the week by employees who have a lengthy commute. The added benefit
3
