Haider, P.E., Director and County Engineer <br />1425 Paul Kirkwold Drive <br />Arden Hills, MN 55112 -3933 • (651) 266 -7100 • Fax (651) 266 -7110 <br />E -mail: Public.Works @co.ramsey.mn.us <br />July 25, 2006 <br />Mr. Joel Hanson <br />City Administrator <br />City of Little Canada <br />515 E Little Canada Road <br />Little Canada, Minnesota 55117 <br />Dear Joel: <br />JUL 2 1 2006 <br />°ire OF Uri LE CANADA <br />Ramsey County Public Works, with the cooperation of the cities of Shoreview, Little Canada and <br />Vadnais Heights, has prepared plans for the installation of emergency vehicle pre - emption (EVP) <br />at traffic signals within your city. <br />Enclosed for your review and approval are the construction plans for the emergency vehicle pre- <br />emption at the intersections of Rice Street (CSAII 49) at Owasso Boulevard N, Rice Street <br />(CSAH 49) at 1 -694 south ramps, Rice Street (CSAH 49) at I -694 north ramps, Rice <br />Street /Hodgson Road (CSAH 49) at Gramsie Road, Hodgson Road (CSAH 49) at County Road <br />I and Lexington Avenue at Tanglewood Drive. Please present these plans to your Council for <br />approval. 1 will ask for your approval signature on the signal plan title sheet subject to the <br />Council's favorable response to this project. <br />Also included is a copy of agreement PW2006 -06 between Ramsey County and the Cities of <br />Shoreview and Little Canada and a cost estimate. Please present the agreement to your Council <br />for approval. The agreement covers cost participation and maintenance responsibilities for the <br />Emergency Vehicle Pre - Emption on Rice Street (CSAH 49) at Owasso Boulevard N (CSAH <br />18 /Country Drive. Costs are to be split 50% City of Little Canada and 50% City of Shoreview. <br />The originals have been sent to Shoreview. They will be forwarded to Little Canada for <br />execution when available. I will forward you a fully signed original when executed by the <br />Ramsey County Board. <br />As per the Ramsey County cost participation policy for traffic signals, construction cost for the <br />installation of the EVP will be the responsibility of the municipalities. The County will cover all <br />design and construction inspections associated with the project.
