MINUTES <br />CUP <br />PERMITS — <br />87/89 COUNTY <br />ROAR C — <br />PRESTIGE <br />POOLS <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />JULY 14, 2011 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Planning <br />Commission of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 14th day of <br />July, 2011 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 <br />Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Acting Chair Tom Duray called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the <br />following members of the Planning Commission were present at roll call: <br />PLANNING COMMISSION: <br />ABSENT: <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br />Mr. Tom Duray <br />Mr. Tom Fischer <br />Mr. Jon Hall <br />Ms. Heidi Murphy <br />Ivlr. Dan Knudsen <br />Mr. Scott Barraclough <br />Mr. Chuck Pechmann <br />Mr. Steve Grittman, City Planner <br />Mr. Kevin'Helander, Cable TV <br />Ms. Kathy Glanzer, City Clerk <br />The June 9, 2011 Planning Commission meeting minutes were approved <br />as submitted. <br />Mr. Pat Henry, Prestige Pools, appeared before the Commission <br />requesting Conditional Use Permits to allow a commercial use (pool <br />construction, service, and retail sales business) in the Residential - <br />Business (R -B) Zoning District as well as construction of a 1,200 square <br />foot garage for storage of business - related materials and supplies at <br />87/89 County Road C. <br />The City Planner reported that the first CUP being requested is to allow <br />the operation of a commercial business in the R -B District, noting that <br />commercial uses are allowed by CUP while residential uses are permitted. <br />The Planner indicated that the R -I3 District is a transitional zone between <br />residential and more intense commercial areas. There are specific <br />requirements for the types of commercial uses that are allowed in the R -13 <br />District to ensure compatibility with surrounding residential areas. The <br />Planner noted that the coffee house formerly at the location in question <br />was developed under the R -B zoning. He noted that given the access for <br />9 <br />
