In the case of an employee who requests to work less than their normal 8 -hour work <br />schedule on a given day due to personal needs. and upon approval by the City <br />Administrator. that employee may be allowed to make up the time during the same 40- <br />hour work week (Wednesday through "Tuesday) at straight time. Example, employee <br />works 7 1/2 hours on Monday, can make up the half hour the next day, thus working 8 '/z <br />hours on Tuesday. This 8 '/ hours is raid at straight time and overtime or comp time <br />would not be generated. If the time cannot be made up during the same work week, the <br />employee will be required to use vacation or comp time to make up their time. <br />Use of compensatory time shall in all cases be subject to the needs of municipal service <br />and prior approval of the employees supervisor. Each supervisor shall be responsible for <br />providing the City Administrator with an accurate accounting of all such hours worked <br />by an employee. <br />It shall be the duty of the City Administrator to obtain from supervisors and to maintain <br />on file accurate records for all employees, showing the amount of compensatory time <br />accrued and used by each City employee. It shall he the duty of the employee to provide <br />an accurate accounting of compensatory time during each pay period. <br />Compensatory time may be accrued to a maximum of forty (40) hours. <br />Temporary or Seasonal Employees -- All such employees shall be entitled to pay at the <br />rate of time and one -half for all hours worked in excess of forty (40) hours per work <br />week. Parks seasonal workers are paid a shift differential for any hours worked outside <br />the regular workday. The regular workday is Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. <br />Saturdays, Sundays, holidays and weekday hours before 6 a.m. or after 5 p.m. are defined <br />as other than the normal workday. <br />3 <br />
