E. Compenation.
1. Base Compensation. City and Contractor shall on a quarterly basis, and with
enough time for City to adjust its billing system, prepare a verification of collection
by auditing and adjusting the number of households for collection. The Contractor
shall submit a bill to the City on or before the 7th day of each month. The City will
pay the Contractor before the end of each month during the term of this contract.
City shall be responsible for billing residences for services provided. Compensation
for services shall be determined by the following formula:
For Refuse: # of homes to be served — service waivers x level of sery ice rate per
Attachment A.
For Recycling: # of homes served — service waivers x recycling rate per
Attachment A.
For Bulky Item Pickup: # of homes served — service waivers x bulky item rate per
Attachment A.
For Yard Waste: # of homes electing this service x applicable rate per Attachment
A.
2. Disposal Fees. The Contractor shall pay all disposal fees resulting from the
collections of Little Canada refuse, yard waste, bulky items, and recyclables.
3. Fuel Surcharge Fee. The Contractor shall be eligible for a fuel surcharge fee
beginning January 1, 2010. Said fee shall be calculated based on Attachment C.
The City shall determine the imposition of said fee pursuant to the ten,us of this
agreement and by referencing the Department of Energy's Midwest Average for
#2 Diesel Fuel for the week preceeding the end of the quarter in question upon
notice from the Contractor by the 10" of the month following the completion of
a prescribed quarterly period that fuel prices have triggered the imposition of
said fee. Once imposed, the City will include this fee in the next billing to
residents. The fuel surcharge shall be adjusted on a quarterly basis for the
following quarters ending on December 3151, March 315`, June 30°i, and
September 30'h of each year. Failure to provide proper notice of the application
of the fuel surcharge within the prescribed timeframe will negate application of
that fee for the City's billing quarter.
4. Additional Collection Services. Charges for pickup of additional items and for
additional service shall be made directly to the resident owner by the Contractor
at the prices stated in Attachment `B" hereto.
