-Elf DING TASSO(I .AT[S October 20, 2006 File No. 120059E -0071 Honorable Mayor and City Council City of Little Canada 515 Little Canada Road East Little Canada, MN 55117 -1633 SUBJECT: County Road B2 and Jessica Court Lift Station Modifications Recommendation of Award Dear Mayor and Council Members: As you are aware, the City previously contracted for the lift station equipment for the replacement of the lift stations on County Road B2 and Jessica Court. Bids were opened for the installation of the equipment at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 18, 2006 in accordance with the Advertisement for Bids. The following bids were received. Contractor Bid Amount Engineering Construction Innovations, Inc. $ 52,300.00 Park Construction Company $ 74,400.00 CCS Contracting, Inc. $ 83,700.00 Jay Brothers, Inc. $ 84,112.00 Landwehr Construction, Inc. $113,750.00 Due to the variation of the bid amounts, we contacted the low bidder to ensure that no large error was made during the preparation of the bid. They indicated that they did not believe that an error was made, but did ask for a few days to review the bid. In addition to reviewing their bid, we also requested references from other communities that they hvae completed work for. To date, they have not informed us of the results of their bid review or supplied any reference information. At this time we do not have a recommendation for the City Council on the award of the project. We hope that by the time of the meeting we will be able to provide a recommendation based on the bids received and a reference check.
