The new sign, N01, is located internally, and is not visible from the street. However, Sign NO2 faces County Road B, along with 2 other existing wall signs and one of the freestanding signs. It would not appear that this sign would be appropriate, given the amount of existing signage in this location. The Comprehensive Sign Plan ordinance was developed to accommodate the unique signage needs of multiple building projects, many of which have several different businesses in the complex. While the self- storage business has multiple buildings, they all shelter a single business. As such, it would appear to be necessary to increase the identification of the business as proposed. Summary and Recommendation Planning staff recommends approval of the Comprehensive Sign Plan CUP, but only to the extent of the changes to the existing signs (E01 through E04), and the new internal sign (N01), but not approving the new sign on the wall facing County Road B.
