Memo <br />�lC CRING k ASSOCIAT -ES <br />TO: Mayor Blesener & Members of the City Council <br />FROM: Lee Elfering, City Engineer <br />DATE: June 9, 2006 <br />RE: Jessica Court Lift Station and County Road B2 Lift Station <br />Authorization for Advertising <br />The lift stations on County Road B2 and Jessica Court have been experiencing an <br />increasing amount of problems and maintenance issues over the last few years. In <br />review of the existing stations and the maintenance records it has been determined that <br />both lift stations are beyond their useful life. In order to provide reliable sanitary sewer <br />service to both areas the lift stations should be replaced. It is proposed that both lift <br />stations be replaced with the same style that was used on the Diana Lane lift station to <br />maintain similar controls and equipment throughout the City. <br />The replacement of the lift stations will be a two phase /contract process, similar to the <br />one used for Diana Lane. The first contract will be let to obtain the lift station equipment <br />and a second contract will be let to replace the existing piping and equipment with the <br />new. We have been working with the Public Works staff over the last few months <br />preparing the equipment specifications for the lift stations and are ready let the first <br />phase of the project.
