CITY OF LITTLE CANADA <br />SPECIFICATIONS FOR STREET SWEEPING <br />Notice is hereby given that the City of Little Canada will receive quotations until 11:00 a.m. on <br />Tuesday, March 21, 2005 for the sweeping of city streets for 2006 (spring and late summer /fall). <br />Specifications & Conditions: <br />The successful contractor must adhere to the following specifications and conditions: <br />✓ The selected contractor shall furnish a certificate of insurance naming the City of Little <br />Canada as an additional insured. Limits of liability shall be at least $1,000,000 per <br />occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate. <br />✓ All city streets (not including county roads and state highways) are to be swept curb to curb, <br />or to the full pavement width, whichever applies. <br />✓ Water is to be applied while sweeping to control dust in a manner consistent with industry <br />standards. <br />✓ Speed of travel while sweeping shall be controlled so that all loose debris is removed from <br />the road surface and to ensure that the sweeper does not create a hazard or nuisance to <br />pedestrians, motorists, and private property. <br />✓ Sweeping operations must be conducted in confou„ance with Little Canada's noise <br />ordinance. (Municipal Code Chapter 2801) <br />✓ Equipment is to be maintained in good, operating condition as evidenced by the quality of <br />work performed and the efficiency by which sweeping takes place. <br />✓ Water usage is to be kept track of by utilizing a meter provided by the City. Usage will be <br />from City designated hydrant(s). <br />✓ The City will not pay for down time of the sweepers nor will it pay for travel time on the <br />roads (mobilization /demobilization). <br />✓ Sweeping may commence on Monday, March 27'h, weather permitting. Sweeping must be <br />completed no later than Friday April 21st, 2005, subject to extraordinary delays caused by <br />abnormal weather. <br />✓ The selected contractor shall make every effort to abide by posted road limits by loading <br />trucks on 9 -ton routes. <br />Quotations: <br />Quotations shall be submitted on the forms furnished by the City and based upon the options listed <br />below. Pricing shall be provided for both programs listed below using the base program description, <br />Alternate 1, or both the base programs and Alternate 1. Program 1 is for the spring sweeping <br />program. Program 2 is for a possible late summer sweeping. <br />Program 1• <br />The first quotation is the cost per hour rate for spring cleanup to include two sweepers, <br />operators, and transportation to the Ramsey County's Kent Street dumpsite via one tandem dump <br />truck (see map include with proposal packet). <br />
