CITY OF LITTLE CANADA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION 2025-9-149 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION TO THE 2025 <br />LOCAL ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FOR THE LABORE ROAD <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECT <br />WHEREAS, the Labore Road Improvement Project (“Project”) would improve safety for <br />vehicles and pedestrians along Labore Road from Centerville Road to County Road D, and <br />would include new pedestrian amenities along Labore Road; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Local Road Improvement Program (LRIP) administered by the Minnesota <br />Department of Transportation makes available up to $1,500,000 to apply towards projects on <br />local roads that are regionally significant, result in safety improvements, address transportation <br />deficiencies, and contribute to economic development; and <br />WHEREAS, the proposed Project would be regionally significant, providing improved safety <br />and mobility for vehicles along a major route that transects a large majority of the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the proposed project is not fiscally possible without a transportation grant funding <br />award; and <br />WHEREAS, Little Canada is a state aid city and can receive and administer LRIP funds; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Little <br />Canada; that <br />1.The City Council hereby supports the Labore Road Improvement Project; and <br />2.The City Council hereby supports the City's pursuit of LRIP funding and authorizes staff <br />to prepare and submit such application; and <br />3.The City Council hereby commits to funding project elements not eligible for LRIP <br />funding and ensuring the Project complies with LRIP funding requirements and <br />timelines. <br />Adopted by the Council this 24th day of September, 2025. <br />_____________________________ <br />Thomas Fischer, Mayor <br />Attest: _________________________________ <br />Heidi Heller, City Clerk
