The generator is grossly undersized. The current generator only powers <br />emergency lighting, some outlets, the apparatus bay doors, and the card entry system. <br /> <br />The fire station is also the backup emergency operations center for the City of Little <br />Canada and the current generator does not power the air conditioning units, lights in <br />most of the rest rooms among other things. <br /> <br />The new generator will power the entire building. <br /> <br />I did have Public Works Director Dirks and some of his staff review the two bids to <br />ensure the equipment and services are comparable. <br /> <br /> <br />SOURCE OF FUNDS: The fire station generator will be funded out of the fire <br />equipment fund. $40,000 was ear-marked and approved for this project in the 2025 <br />budget. The original estimate of $40,000 came from the Kraus Anderson study. <br /> <br />We received 2 bids for the generator replacement: <br />Allied Generators of Shoreview $ 45,675.00 <br />Kodiak Power Solutions $ 64,744.00 <br /> <br />
