Per the City’s Finance Policy, this purchase qualifies as a Major Purchase (between $25,000 and <br />$174,999). Such a purchase requires at least two quotes or proposals from qualified vendors or <br />the use of cooperative purchasing agreements, and approval by the Department Head, City <br />Administrator, and City Council before purchase. <br />Although this transaction represents a trade-in resulting in a net cost of $15,000 (which does not <br />need City Council approval), for transparency and erroring on the side of caution, this purchase <br />is being brought forward for City Council approval. <br />Staff Recommendations: <br />Staff recommends approving the purchase of a new 2025 Bobcat Toolcat for the net price of <br />$15,000, following the trade-in of the 2023 Toolcat for $60,000.
