Technical Advisory Committee <br />Mission and Purpose <br />Technical Advisory Committee Mission <br />To engage the Little Canada community in a collaborative process to identify design imperatives of a <br />Community Building that is thoughtfully conceived, operationally efficient, and purposefully functional - <br />serving the needs of current residents and future generations. <br /> Technical Advisory Committee Purpose <br />The purpose of the Community Building Technical Advisory Committee is to: <br />• Study, analyze and guide the planning and design of the Community Building <br />• Learn from other communities and organizations through similar projects <br />• Gather input from community members and users that provide direction for planning and design <br />• Align the Community Building project with a process consistent with the current Parks System Master <br /> Plan <br />• Evaluate opportunities for innovation throughout the design and planning process <br />8 City of Little Canada Technical Advisory Committee Final Report <br />Process <br />Technical Advisory Committee Tasks <br />• Examine business, market, and industry trends <br />• Create a preliminary building function and use <br />concept <br />• Collect input and ideas from all corners of the <br />community <br />• Encourage and support the exploration of new <br />revenue <br /> opportunities <br />• Provide “wise counsel” on issues raised by <br />community <br /> members, City Council and city staff <br />• Conduct brainstorming exercises to assist future <br />design <br /> professionals. “No idea is a bad idea” <br />• Identify specific facility concerns and opportunities <br />• Recommend a sustainable course of action that <br /> exercises fiscal responsibility <br /> Technical Advisory Committee Deliverables <br />• Examine business, market, and industry trends <br />• Produce an Executive Summary <br />• Produce a Final Report for the community <br />• Engage the community at an open house with findings <br />• Presentation of draft report to the Parks and Recreation Commission <br />• Presentation of Final Report and recommendations to the City Council <br />• TAC will dissolve after delivery of the Final Report and recommendations <br />TAC Committee at Proposed Site
