Meeting Descriptions <br />Community Building Background, Financing & Core Purposes (June 18, 2025) <br />The Community Building Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) was brought together for the first time <br />to go over history of the project, receive a presentation from the Finance Director on financing options, <br />and discuss their mission & core purpose. <br />City of Little Canada Technical Advisory Committee Final Report 11 <br />Site Tour & Function/Use Brainstorming Exercise (July 17, 2025) <br />The TAC toured the prospective site to get a better feel for the size and surrounding infrastructure. <br />Steve Anderson led a function/use brainstorming exercise where members were split into three smaller <br />groups to talk about the uses, functions, and amenities the building should have. <br />Community Partners & Industry Professionals (August 12, 2025) <br />Community users and industry professionals were brought in to share their experiences with <br />constructing and operating a community building, green building technologies, and community input. <br />Speakers at the meeting included: <br /> • Jason Hicks - New Brighton Assistant Director <br /> • Shawn Hipp – Neighbors of Pioneer Park <br /> • Asa Posner – Green Building & Sustainability Professional <br /> • Lance Schuer – Bolton & Menk Landscape Architect <br /> • Anna Springer – Bolton & Menk Landscape Architect <br /> • Thomas Stromsodt – Oertel Architects Vice President <br />Tour and Findings Discussion, Report Development (September 3, 2025) <br />TAC members discussed the other community buildings they had toured over the last month and <br />discussed key takeaways from each tour. A finding presentation was made by Director Anderson and <br />the TAC discussed key elements that should be present in the future Little Canada community building. <br />Staff delegated tasks for development the final report.
