Design imperatives are the essential, non-negotiable principles or requirements that must be met to achieve <br />a specific, desired outcome in a design project. The TAC recommends the following design imperatives for <br />the Community Building Project: <br /> <br />• Prioritize sustainability and environmental stewardship <br /> <br />• The community building must have: <br /> o Enough parking for community building users and current deficiencies <br /> o Dedicated indoor programmable recreation space <br /> o Multi-use, flexible gathering space <br />• Reflect Little Canada’s identity and “Maple Leaf Vibes” <br /> <br />• Relocate within Pioneer Park both tennis and basketball courts if displaced <br />Design Imperatives <br />City of Little Canada Technical Advisory Committee Final Report 19
